Nokia is betting its future on Microsoft’s mobile OS, and on October 26, 2011 introduced its first Windows Phone 7 device, the Lumia 800. If the Lumia 800 looks familiar, that’s because it’s similar to the Nokia N9, which runs OS (MeeGo) soon to be ditched.
The screen itself is a 3.7-inch AMOLED affair that seemed very clear and bright. The AMOLED technology offers very deep black levels which helped make the bright tiles on black background of the Windows Phone interface really pop.
Inside, there’s a 1.4GHz processor and graphics co-processor driving the operating system to deliver a silky-smooth user experience. There’s 16GB of internal user memory, with cloud computing integrated to offer 25GB of free SkyDrive storage for your music and pictures. Communications are handled by a quadband reception, up to HSDPA 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth. Talk time is rated at up to 13 hours, or standby for up to 335 hours. It measures 116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1mm and weighs 142g.

It managed to take some decent looking shots in the low-light room where we had our brief hands on that looked good on the bright screen.
The Nokia Lumia 800 will be available from November inFrance,Germany,Italy, theNetherlands,Spainand theUK, across 31 operators. The estimated retail price is €420, before any local taxes or subsidies.
