UK Media’s Recent Surveys on VCR and PVR

New research suggests that the PVR has killed off the VCR - although many people have a sentimental attachment to the obsolete technology. The rise of digital TV and its associated personal video recorder (PVR) has led to the death of the video cassette recorder (VCR), Freeview has said. --- Source from cable.co.uk
However, another survey claimed another opinion that 29% Of UK Citizens would like to Keep VCRs. The survey (TeleScope 2013), made to primarily investigate the trends of TV and PVRs (Personal Video Recorders) in the region found that people in the UK currently have a cumulative 455m hours of TV content stored on their PVRs (primarily through brands such as Sky+ and YouView), an amount that would take close to 52,000 years to get through on its own.
During the past years, the PVR (Personal Video Recorder) once gave a big hit to the consumer electrics market for its stunning feature of recording TV programs automatically with high definition up to 1080i. Later, since the HD PVR 2 Game Edition came out, many game lovers began to use it to record their game plays and shared them to friends. In a word, the PVR has largely facilitated people’s daily life. And now, PVR heat the market again in small towns in India for ‘nano’ cinemas, according to an Indian media report recently.
PVR can be one of the greatest inventions to the modern world, as far as I am concerned. Although sometimes there will be difficulties to import PVR to media player like importing Humax PVR to WMV to Windows Media Player, that is just a piece of cake if you have a smart Mac PVR Software to help, because such software like Doremisoft Video Converter (Video Converter for Mac) can help users convert nearly all video formats to another, such as converting PVR to WMV and more.
I think we should really be of gratitude for such a great invention like PVR, for it has made our life much more convenient.

HTC One to Rival Samsung and Apple – Enjoy Multimedia with HTC One Freely

Samsung and Apple better beware – the HTC One combines stunning design, a supreme screen and explosive power to offer one of the best smartphones around. Though the launched date of the HTC One has once again been delayed since the shortages throughout April, we have already seen from every aspect that the HTC One is really a splendid new smartphone model which drags people into reveries.
Although HTC has developed several notable Android devices (such as the Dream, the first ever Android phone, the HTC Evo 4G, the first 4G phone on Sprint's WiMAX network), it has struggled financially in recent years due to the growing success of (and loss of market share to) other vendors such as Samsung and Apple.

With a sleek aluminum body, a live home screen that streams all of your favorite content, a photo gallery that comes life, and dual frontal stereo speakers, the HTC One is ready to reshape your smartphone experience. Now, let’s look at the detailed spec of this great gadget.

Enjoy Your Favorite Videos with HTC One Freely

The HTC One got a full HD screen crammed into 4.7-inches, which brings a 468ppi – well above what's needed for the eye to discern, but it does definitely bring sumptuous sharpness throughout the use of the phone. In addition, it sports a dual frontal stereo speakers powered by built-in amplifiers deliver bigger sound with less distortion and more detail. Since that, the HTC One is also an outstanding multimedia player for enjoying movies indoors and outdoors.
However, as HTC One is in nature an Android device, which has limitation on playing multimedia files, say it only supports audios in .aac, .amr, .ogg, .m4a, .mid, .mp3, .wav and .wma format, and video formats of .3gp, .3g2, .mp4, .wmv and .avi. For this reason, many videos in other file formats like .mov, .mkv, etc. are not playable by the HTC One either for the audio or video incompatibility. That’s totally a waste of such a great multimedia player, isn’t it?
Actually, there’s a simple way to solve such kind of problem: if you want to play video with HTC One, just use a third-party HTC One Video Converter to convert the incompatible videos to HTC One accepted file formats.
From my personal experience, Doremisoft Video Converter (Video Converter for Mac) has always been helping me a lot in the video conversions. It’s a multifunctional program that features many roles such as acting an MP4 to MOV Conveter to convert MP4 to MOV.
You can just download it and try. Hope it will help you! Enjoy!

Convert SWF Files to Mac Devices

As we all know, all kinds of Apple/Mac devices and applications including the iPhone, iPad, iPod, iMovie, FCP, iTunes, QuickTime, etc. do not support the SWF videos since they don’t have the Adobe Flash Player. That’s really inconvenient either for work or for entertainment since SWF is one of the most commonly used and seen formats. There’re many chance that we need to use the SWF files on Mac like inserting SWF to Keynote. I’ve found many Mac users wondering how they can use the SWF files on Mac applications without Adobe Flash Player:
swf converter mac features 2
I am using a screen record program called 'Jing', on my mac. The one problem I am encountering is editing video in iMovie. The clips I'm making are '.swf' (flash) files, that for some reason, I cannot seem to open in iMovie. Can I convert these to .mov files for free in some way? Or maybe I need to figure out a way to get a free program to edit my swf files?
Help!
I would like to know how it is possible to take a flash file from its flash format and convert it into a movie file like a quicktime file. For I want to playback it on my QuickTime player. Help please?
How can we fix such kind of problem? Well, actually, if you want to import SWF to iMovie on Mac for editing, or play flash SWF on QuickTime, the easiest way is to convert the flash SWF to Mac accepted formats such as MOV. QuickTime MOV is the default video format of Mac OS and iOS, which means if your video can be open with QuickTime (in MOV format), it can be used in any Mac devices and applications.
To conduct such conversion, you will need a third-party SWF Video Converter for Mac (or SWF Video Converter for Windows if necessary) to help. A powerful converter like Doremisoft Mac SWF Converter can help Mac users handle most difficult SWF conversion problems. Of course, this kind of SWF converter can not only convert SWF to MOV, but also can convert SWF to a lot more other formats. For example, you can convert SWF to M4V on Mac so that you can transfer it to your iTunes library.

Play 1080P MKV Movies on Kindle Fire HD

The Kindle Fire HD features an 8.9-inch 1920x1200, 254ppi display. It includes an HD front-facing camera, HDMI output, Bluetooth connectivity, and a laminated touch sensor for better visuals and 25-percent less glare. Under the hood, Amazon has dropped in a Texas Instruments OMAP 4470 processor.
With its beautiful high-definition color display, dual-band Wi-Fi, fast 1.2 Ghz dual-core processor, and eleven-hour battery, Kindle Fire HD allows you to enjoy your media wherever you want. Many popular apps are supported, including Facebook, Netflix, Twitter, HBO GO, Pandora, Angry Birds Space, and more.
The Kindle Fire HD 7 was the best tablet at a certain price. But with the larger Kindle Fire HD 8.9, "we made the best tablet at any price," Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said, in a not-so-subtle jab at the iPad.
However, just the same as other kinds of tablet, the Kindle Fire HD does not support MKV video format. MKV, a common HD and SD video format, is famous for multiple subtitles and audio tracks, is widely used in saving HD videos up to 1080p, which is the best choice for people to enjoy high definition movies. But due to its complexity, it is not well supported by lots of tablets including Nexus 7/10, iPad mini, iPad 4, Surface Pro, etc. That’s really a pain in the butt for those who want to play MKV on Kindle Fire HD.
In this case, the best solution is to convert MKV to Kindle Fire HD accepted video formats via a professional Video Converter (Video Converter for Mac). Personally speaking, I’d like to use the one from Doremisoft, which can convert MKV videos to almost all popular formats, such as MKV to WMV.
In addition, if you want to play 1080p MKV on iPhone 5, or play MKV on Google Nexus 7 and more, you can also use this powerful MKV to Kindle Fire HD Video Converter Mac to meet the goal.

How to Rip Audio Files from Videos using VLC Media Player

VLC Media Player is not just a media player, but a complete program. What I want to introduce you in this post is how VLC convert FLV, AVI, and other video files to MP3 format with simple steps. And it is quite useful when creating unique media files for applications when MP3 files need to be created by extracted audio from video files.
Go to Media > Convert/Save. This opens the dialog box in which the file to be converted can be easily selected. Notice that the media can be converted from a hard drive file, network, removable media, or a Capture Device. Select that command, and VLC will happily prepare to rip the audio from the video, such as PVR to MP3.
Click “Add” to select the desired file that needs to be converted, then hit click Convert/Save as the next step. In the pop-up dialog box, choose the Stream Output. It may be necessary to create and name a new file. Well, you’d better do that so it can be easily found later or if multiple files need to be converted. The file will be saved with the filename with a “.ps” extension. Just substitute the “.ps” extension with an “.mp3” extension is OK.
Note that you can enter the name plus the .mp3 file extension so that .ps is not appended automatically. It is recommended to to that. Go to the Settings section of the Convert dialog box to open the Profile drop down menu. Here, the format can be selected. In this case, the desired format is MP3. Select MP3 encoding.
The final step, press Start and allow the data to stream then save. The MP3 file can now be opened and used as seen fit.
Actually, you can also extract audios from YouTube or Vimeo videos by converting YouTube/Vimeo to MP3 by VLC in the same way mentioned above. What you only need to do is to download the videos, and drag them to VLC in the right form. If the downloaded videos’ cannot be opened by VLC, you can try Doremisoft Video Converter (Video Converter for Mac) which can also help you conduct the conversion perfectly.
In addition, the iTunes can also enable users to convert songs in the iTunes library to another format. The converting will generate a copy of the audio in the format you’ve chosen, which gives you the alternative to either keep or delete the original file. When you convert an audio from a compressed to uncompressed one (for example, from MP3 to AIFF) you wouldn't notice any reduction in sound quality. However, while converting from an uncompressed to compressed format (eg. from AIFF to MP3AIff to AAC), you should note that it will inevitably lose the sound quality.

A Powerful Video Tool for Lumia 920

It's not the newest kid on the block, but Nokia's Lumia 920 is still the current flagship in the Windows Phone range. Other manufacturers might disagree, but Nokia has packed the 920 with some enhancements to give it an edge over other models that have similar-sized screens and processing power.
Highs
• Lots of internal storage
• Gorgeous, sensitive touchscreen
• Camera performs very well in low light
• Battery life rocks
• Windows Phone 8 is fast and fluid
• Awesome specs
• Revamped Start Screen is unparalleled
• Nokia apps are high quality and numerous
Lows
• App Store is embarrassing
• Casing (at least the matte one) is prone to scuffs
• Core apps need work
• Limited availability
• No micro SD
Overall, the Lumia 920 is a great piece of hardware, and one of the best Windows Phone 8 devices you can buy, but does come with a few downsides, mostly related to the infancy of Microsoft's operating system. Still, if you're willing to try something new, you can't go wrong with the Lumia.
The Lumia 920 makes you think of tablets in a whole different way. However, it seems that it is difficult for you to play 1080p/720p Videos on it. Chances are that the audio and video are out of sync, the video is without sound, or the video even can't be recognized and played by Surface.
How to import 1080p/720p Videos, like 1080p MKV to Lumia 920? Well, actually, that’s very simple. What you only need is a professional Mobile Devices Video Converter, which will help you finish this task perfectly with high efficiency.
Doremisoft Video Converter (Video Converter for Mac) is the ideal converter for all users who have the format compatible problems. It is also a perfect Nexus/Surface Video Converter with which you can easily convert almost all videos to mobile devices, such as converting XviD to Nexus 10 and Surface Pro.
Tips: If you want to convert mobile devices video to ISO for backup on DVD disc, you can also try Doremisoft DVD Creator.

How to Put JING Screenshots into Use on Mac

The SWF file format delivers animation created with Adobe Flash; may contain text as well as both vector and raster graphics and sound over the Internet; also may include interactive actions written in ActionScript; plays in Web browsers that have the Flash plug-in installed. Flash Player already reaches over 98% of Internet-enabled desktops and more than 800 million handsets and mobile devices. The SWF file format is designed to be an efficient binary delivery format, not a format for exchanging graphics between graphics editors.
Jing is a screencasting computer program launched in 2007 as Jing Project by Corporation TechSmith. You can capture an image of what you see on your computer screen with Jing. Besides, you can also select any window or region that you would like to record, and Jing will capture everything that happens in that area. From simple mouse movements to a fully narrated tutorial, Jing records everything you see, and do. Jing videos are limited to five minutes for instant, focused communication. Jing gives you the basic tools to start sharing images and short videos of your computer screen.
JING is very adorable for most users, except the Mac users since it record videos and movements in .swf format. As is known to all, Apple did not, does not and still will not cooperate with Adobe, so there’s no Adobe Flash Player and Adobe flash plugin on Mac, without which, Mac cannot run the SWF files at all. It is a great pity not making full use of JING. As many Mac users are asking how they can use the JING SWF videos on Mac – JING to iMovie, JING SWF to MOV on Mac, or JING SWF to QuickTime on Mac, etc. here, I’ll provide you the easiest way to handle that: to use a third-party JING SWF Converter to get this task done.
Doremisoft JING SWF Converter (JING SWF Converter for Mac) is the exact program that will help you fix all the SWF problems nicely. Below is the brief guides on converting JING SWF to iMovie:
Step 1: Import JING SWF flash to the converter by clicking “Select File”.

Step 2: Set iMovie-friendly output format following Profile > Applications > iMovie.

Step 3: Hit “Next” and "Start Conversion" button to begin to convert JING SWF to iMovie.
Step 4: Thereafter, you can easily import the converted JING captured videos to iMovie for editing.

Importing Windows Movie Maker Incompatible Videos

Windows Movie Maker (formerly known as Windows Live Movie Maker, codenamed Sundance) is a freeware video editing software by Microsoft. It is a part of Windows Essentials software suite and offers the ability to create and edit videos as well as to publish them on SkyDrive, Facebook, YouTube, and Flickr. --- from Wikipedia
Windows Movie Maker is kind of powerful yet easy-to-use video editor, because of which it is favored by global users. Before using the Windows Movie Maker, it is necessary for us to learn something about this almighty program:
Knowledge about Windows Movie Maker:
Supported Input Formats
Video Formats: asf, avi, WMV
Movie Formats: MPEG1, mpeg, mpg, m1v, mp2
Audio Formats: mp3, wav, snd, au, aif, aifc, aiff
Windows Media Video File: asf, wm, wma, WMV
Supported Output Formats
Windows Media Video File: wmv
Windows Media Audio File: wma
DV/AVI Video File: avi
Well, from is shown above, we can notice that the supported formats of Windows Movie Maker are limited, which means not all videos are editable by it. Yet considering where we can get the original video data when we try to make a homemade movie, we probably will import the source videos from DVD discs or footages from camcorders except downloading from the Internet. However, as we inferred from above, the Windows Movie Maker does not natively support the DVD (.vob/.iso) videos and camcorder (AVCHD/MOV/MOD, etc) footages. So it would be a pain in the butt to get these videos run on Windows Movie Maker right. Here comes out topic today: how to edit any video with Windows Movie Maker.
As has been mentioned above, WMM does not support DVD videos, so if you want to import a DVD to Windows Movie Maker, you need to use a third-party DVD to Windows Movie Maker Converter to help. By doing so, the DVD videos will be ripped down from the disc and be converted to WMM-accepted formats so that you can edit them on it. Recommended program: Doremisoft DVD Converter.
As to the camcorder footages like MOV videos, you should choose this Video Converter to convert MOV to Windows Movie Maker so as to get the source video runs at the right form. Besides, this converter can also convert camcorder footages to other video editor in addition to WMM. For example, you can use the converter to convert GoPro Hero 3 to Premiere with high efficiency and with no quality loss.
OK, that’s all the contents about this topic today. Have fun!

Know More about the Online Video Sharing Sites

Do you know YouTube and Vimeo? OK, I know I was asking a silly question just now. Forgive me! YouTube and Vimeo are so popular worldwide now! But as we are talking about YouTube and Vimeo here, it’d be better to list some basic knowledge, wouldn’t it?
YouTube is a video-sharing website, created by three former PayPal employees in February 2005, on which users can upload, view and share videos. The company is based in San Bruno, California, and uses Adobe Flash Video and HTML5 technology to display a wide variety of user-generated video content, including movie clips, TV clips, and music videos, as well as amateur content such as video blogging, short original videos, and educational videos. Most of the content on YouTube has been uploaded by individuals, although media corporations including CBS, the BBC, VEVO, Hulu, and other organizations offer some of their material via the site, as part of the YouTube partnership program. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users can upload an unlimited number of videos. ---from Wikipedia
Vimeo, like YouTube, is a popular video sharing website, providing many high-quality videos available for viewing online. Of course, users are also allowed to download Vimeo videos for enjoying yourself and your family together offline. It is a U.S.-based video-sharing website on which users can upload, share and view videos. It was founded by Jake Lodwick and Zach Klein in November 2004. They left the company in 2007 and 2008 respectively. The name Vimeo was created by Lodwick and is a play on the word video, inserting the word "me" as a reference to the site's dedication to user-made video and is also an anagram of the word "movie". ---also refers to Wikipedia
Many people share their wonderful video clips on YouTube, but videos have to be converted to the supported format first. Meanwhile, YouTube videos can be viewed on computers or portable devices connected to the internet, and we can even personalize our own homepage for the site to remember our personal preferences. Well are these all the good stuffs of them? Do you want to enjoy more from YouTube and Vimeo, like downloading YouTube/Vimeo videos to their PC or MAC or transfer them to their iPhones, iPads, etc. for enjoyment? Watching them when you are not near an internet connection, like on a bus or a train? Or transferring Vimeo, YouTube to iTunes? How about to import the videos from Vimeo/YouTube to Windows Movie Maker for a DIY editing? OK, if you’ve already been imaging that alongside my words, you should continue reading this page.
If you want to enjoy more from YouTube and Vimeo like what I said above, one thing you should keep in mind. That is YouTube and Vimeo videos are mostly in FLV format, which will not be recognized by the majority of devices and applications, including iTunes and Windows Movie Maker. In this circumstance, you will need to use a third-party YouTube/Vimeo Video Converter to help you finish this task. Personally speaking, I would prefer Doremisoft Video Converter (Video Converter for Mac) for the perfect conversion rate.
Moreover, some online sharing sites are applied with the HTML 5 standard, which will adopt videos in WebM format. WebM is not a commonly used file format, so it is also not accepted by most players and apps. But with the help ofthe converter mentioned above, you can help you convert WebM to other popular formats like converting WebM to FLV.

Get Camcorder Video into Devices/Applications

Many friends like to shoot videos very much with their camcorders. After videotaping, they may like to publish a movie with the footages via editing with some video editors like FCP, iMovie, Sony Vegas, Windows Movie Maker and more, and then share it with mobile devices such as the Nexus 10, Galaxy S4, etc. but as we know, the camcorder shootings, are mostly encoded with AVCHD MTS/AVCHD Lite, or sometimes MXF format, which are neither accepted by the video editors, nor by the mobile devices.
Now let’s take a look at what these formats actually are:
MTS:
High-definition MPEG Transport Stream video format commonly called "AVCHD"; AVCHD stands for "Advanced Video Codec High Definition used by Sony, Panasonic, and other HD camcorders; based on the MPEG-2 transport stream and supports 720p and 1080i HD video formats.
AVCHD Lite:
AVCHD Lite identifies a subset of AVCHD format, in which progressive-scan video is limited to 720p (1280x720 resolution) Announced in January 2009, the Panasonic DMC-ZS3/DMC-FT1/DMC-TZ7 digital cameras were the first digital cameras to offer AVCHD-lite movie mode. In these early models, the sensor was limited to 25fps (PAL)/30fps(NTSC), which was then recorded in a AVCHD 720p50/60 format bitstream (using picture flags to instruct the decoder to display each stored frame twice.) Since then, Panasonic has added AVCHD-lite to more of its camcorders and digital cameras. In newer models such as the DMC FZ-200, the sensor captures a full 50fps/60fps for video recording.
MXF:
Multimedia format used by digital audio and video programs; contains captured audio and video data as well as metadata that describes the media stored in the file; designed by Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) as a standard container for audio and video data; can be converted into other formats, such as .AVI or .MOV.
As we can infer from the information above, these file formats are special, and will not be recognized by devices/applications, so if you want to import camcorder footages such as Panasonic Lumix FZ45 AVCHD Lite or Panasonic P2 MXF to the editors like FCP/iMovie for editing, you should convert Panasonic Lumix FZ45 AVCHD Lite to MOV or Panasonic P2 MXF to MOV via a professional Mac AVCHD Converter/Mac MXF Converter. Provided that you are a Windows user, you can try the Windows Version.
After the conversion, you will be able to edit the camcorder videos in FCP/iMovie and more. Besides, you can also you this powerful converter to convert videos to mobile devices like converting MTS to Nexus 10 and M4V to Galaxy S4 and so on.

How to Edit Canon Vixia Videos with FCP/iMovie

Canon, the leader in the camcorder manufacturing field, is well known for its high quality camcorders and cameras. Its cameras/camcorders, producing HD video image quality and perfect user experience, have already gained a great global reputation. The only disappointing point of it, if any, is that though Canon cameras, such as the Canon Vixia series, create outstanding quality videos, it is sometimes impossible to edit their AVCHD footages with FCP and iMovie – the most useful video editors for Mac. That’s mainly because the format compatibility problems so that we cannot even load the Canon MTS to Final Cut Pro/iMovie.
MTS to FCPX
Possible reasons:
1. Check the processor. If your Mac processor is an old Intel-based version, you may probably fail to import Canon Vixia AVCHD to Mac, for the Inter-based version of Mac cannot recognize AVCHD MTS file.
2. Confirm whether the MTS file is a raw one. If it is, then you can connect your camcorder, and directly load .mts videos from Canon camcorder to Mac. If not, you cannot open them with iMovie/FCP.
3. Sometimes, even though your Mac runs the OSX Mountain Lion or above and the MTS file is raw one, it is still not possible to load the files into iMovie/FCP somehow. In this case, convert MTS to iMovie/FCP-friendly file formats like MOV can be the easiest way out.
If you need to convert the Vixia footages to FCP or iMovie, you probably will need a professional and strong-powerful Canon Camcorder AVCHD Video Converter for Mac to help you. Suppose you are a Windows user and have the same demand, use this AVCHD Video Converter for Windows. Such kind of converter is an intuitive and smart HD video converting program, which can convert camcorder AVCHD videos (*.mts, *.m2ts) to the popular video formats, such as AVI, MPG, MP4, MOV, WMV, etc. After the conversion, the output videos will be successfully imported to iMovie and FCP.

Practical Tips for Video Conversion FAQ

As we all know, the best way to solve the video format compatibility problem is to convert that video to another common videos. If you are a video zealot, or IT guru, you may easily get the quickest way to conduct the conversion right. However, not all people care much about these stuffs until they need to do the conversion, so they may have questions about what exactly the target video format they should convert to so as to make the unaccepted videos be played well. Let’s look at what people frequently asked about the video conversion:
Video Editing
Q: "I have got shot some AVI videos with my Toshiba Camileo, but they cannot be edited with FCP and iMovie. What’s the problem?"---a friend asked
A: Well, AVI is not the supported file format of iMovie, Final Cut Pro (FCP), and Final Cut Express (FCE), etc. maybe because AVI is Microsoft's response to Apple's QuickTime technology. To solve this problem, the best way is to convert AVI to DV.
Q: "I recently bought the most amazing 15’ Macbook Pro along with final cut Pro, hoping to put together video files from my JVC hard drive camcorder. The files from the camera are .mod and are not recognized by FCP (at least I can't figure out how). Any help on what I have to do? Thanks for your help!" --- From forums.macrumors.com
A: Generally speaking, MOD file is generated by JVC and Panasonic cameras. This kind of video format is now widely used by many famous camcorders since MOD can save videos in high compression rate and great image quality. However, MOD format is not compatible with most video editors such as FCP, iMoive, etc. So, if you want to edit MOD files with these editors, just convert MOD to MOV and the problem will be solved.
Q: "The Samsung Galaxy S4 is coming soon! I’m really excited about it! I like enjoying watching videos with my phone or my tablet when I was free, and I have got a bundle of DVD disc on hand, so my question is that can I play these DVDs with the newest Galaxy S4? "----from TalkAndroid
A: Well, to play DVD movies with Galaxy S4 would be a brilliant idea! But I have to say that it is not possible for you to load the videos directly from DVD to the phone. Instead, you should transfer the DVD videos to you computer firsr, and then convert the videos to Galaxy S4 accepted formats. Don’t have any idea? Try this all-round DVD Converter.
Q: "I want to play DivX videos on iPhone 5, which supports MP4 format only. It’s really irritating to convert DivX to MP4 but without lose their quality. Anyone can help?" Rohan Knouse asked in the Android forum.
A: Many people would like to watch DivX movies with their portable devices that have high resolution display, just like iPhone 5, but hardly can these devices compatible with DivX files. As the friend has mentioned above, you can convert the video’s format from DivX to MP4 because the majority of popular devices can recognize MP4 format. For the quality loss issue after the conversion, you can try this Video Converter, which will preserve the original video quality in 100%.

1080P MKV Videos Playback on Sony Xperia Z/Samsung Galaxy S4

MKV is one of the most widely used video formats today, so it would not be strange to us, isn’t it? Today, many people would like to adopt MKV format in saving their HD videos. It is also favored by the anime and TV shows fan-subbing community since MKV supports multiple audio and subtitle tracks in a single video file. As MKV is such a great format container with that many advantages, some newly designed mobile devices now can somewhat support to play MKV videos.
Nowadays, many mobile devices are designed with big screens, providing high resolution display. Such kind of devices could be outstanding for enjoying high definition videos and movies anywhere. Clearly, to get 1080P MKV videos playback on popular mobile devices will certainly be of great fun. Which is the best device for us to enjoy videos? Well, let’s take a have a look at two of the new favorite in the consumer electrics market:
XperiaZ-UI-1.jpg
Xperia Z is the brand new flagship smartphone of Sony. After the HTC Butterfly, the Xperia Z is the second phone to sport a 1080p display. The phone sports a 5-inch TFT display that has a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels and a pixel density of 441ppi. The screen is bright and vivid, and text looks extremely crisp while app icons and images look sharp. Images and videos look spectacular thanks to the addition of Sony's BRAVIA Engine 2.
The Galaxy S4, which has been announced to be unveiled by Samsung at its own exclusive event in New York on March 14, is expected to have a full-HD 1920×1080 display (up from 1280×720 on the S3) — and the display might even make the jump from 4.8 inches to an edge-to-edge 5 inches. It remains to be seen whether the underlying tech will be AMOLED or LCD, though reports suggest that Samsung’s AMOLED production line isn’t ready to produce 1920×1080 5-inch displays, while the LCD production line is raring to go. Maybe this will mean that the Galaxy S4 can finally compete with the iPhone in terms of image quality and accuracy.
samsung galaxy s4
As has been talked about above, these brand new devices will probably be able to play videos in a wide range of formats like MPEG4, WMV, MP4, DivX, XviD, FLV, H.263, H.264, AVI (divx), MKV, etc. However, that doesn’t mean they can recognize all MKV videos, since MKV is only a container format which could be consist of various different video codecs, so sometimes we may encounter the format compatibility problems, especially when we try to play 1080p MKV with these devices like importing MKV to Galaxy S4 or 1080p MKV to Sony Xperia Z. In this circumstance, we’ll need to convert 1080P MKV to H.264 MP4.
Tips: If you want to do the conversion, such as to convert MKV to Galaxy S4 and convert MKV to Sony Xperia Z MP4, you may need this smart and professional Video Converter (Video Converter for Mac).

Today, there are many manufacturers devoting to developing new types of PVRs with much richer features. One of the most famous PVR developers is Hauppauge. There are two versions of Hauppauge HD PVR: the HD PVR 1212 and the HD PVR Gaming Edition. Below are the differences:
• HD PVR 1212 includes an IR blaster cable to control your cable or satellite set top box channel changing. HD PVR Gaming Edition has a Component Video cable for easy connection to an Xbox 360 or PS3.
• Both HD PVR and HD PVR Gaming Edition have our "no delay pass through" for recording live TV or video
• HD PVR uses a blue record ring to indicate that recording is taking place. The HD PVR Gaming Edition uses a green record ring.
What’s the difference between HD PVR and common ones? Well, HD PVR can capture HD videos and TV programs on your PC with the high quality H.264 AVCHD format, which can be used to burn Blu-ray discs, while the older types use .pvr as output format, which is in poor compatibility with most media devices and applications and will always need to be converted like converting PVR to MPEG/DVR to MPEG in order to make it playable.
One of the popular uses for the HD PVR is to record video gameplay from Xbox 360 or PS3 game to PC in 1080i HD! That means users can share their best games with your friends in high definition! Just like what Geek Tonic said: "Now I think anyone watching me play videogames is a sure-fire way to put them to sleep – or at least laugh at my videogame performance. But I know there is a very large number of videogamers using the HD-PVR to record their video gameplay."
Apart from that, HD PVR users can play and record cable TV and satellite set top boxes in Windows 7 Media Center, with HD recordings using the efficient and high quality H.264 format. But remember that, there’re still many devices and applications don’t support HD PVR videos. For instance, it is impossible to play HD PVR Videos on mobile devices like iPad 4, iPhone 5, Galaxy S4 etc. In this case, you will need HD PVR Software like Doremisoft Video Converter (Video Converter for Mac) to have the HD PVR videos converted.

Can I Play AVCHD Videos with QuickTime on Mac?

Have you ever face the problems like this: "I'm thinking of buying a Canon camcorder which produces AVCHD files. Can I view these straight away with QT 10 or must they be converted first?" (-from Apple Support Community) If you are looking for the answer to the question “Can I play AVCHD videos with QuickTime on Mac”, you should read this passage.
Mac users would always be confused about how to deal with their camcorder AVCHD videos on QuickTime or use the MTS files in other ways, e.g. to upload AVCHD to YouTube. Before talking about this problem, let me explain something about AVCHD videos. AVCHD (Advanced Video Coding High Definition) is a file-based format for the digital recording and playback of high-definition video developed jointly by Sony and Panasonic. It is also called MTS/M2TS as the MPEG-2 transport stream supporting 720p and 1080i HD video formats. MTS files can particularly be opened and edited using the software included with Sony and Panasonic HD camcorders.
Well, if you have to the experience of importing AVCHD to QuickTime on Mac for playback, you may have noticed that the QuickTime player cannot recognize AVCHD videos by default, because QuickTime only support very few video formats like H.264, MPEG-4, MP4, MOV, etc. (as has been mentioned above, AVCHD MTS in at MPEG-2 codec).
In this regard, if you need to play the AVCHD videos on QuickTime, you have to convert AVCHD to QuickTime on Mac beforehand. With a smart Doremisoft Mac AVCHD Converter (AVCHD Video Converter for Windows), you can easily finish this task within seconds. How to Import Videos from DVD/PVR to iPad 4

The latest iPad model – iPad 4, with a Retina display screen developed by Apple, has not many difference compared with the iPad 3, but it does have a faster New A6X processor, a Retina Display, longer battery Life, and a new Lightning docking connector, which makes it a much better one than the previous iPad models. Because of that, iPad 4 could be the bestselling iPad model in the market.
Many iPad fans would like to enjoy music or videos on the iPad since its fantastic entertaining features. Sometimes, when we are indulged in some TV shows or DVD movies, or the theme songs from them, we would like to transfer them to the iPad 4 for playback. However, things would not be that easy when you attempt to finish this task as the TV episodes captured by a PVR, or the movies encoded as .vob from a DVD disc, cannot be directly played on iPad 4. In this regard, people may have no idea what they can do? As far as I am concerned, I believe that the best solution to extract videos or audios from a PVR/DVD to iPad 4 is to change the files’ format from PVR to iPad or VOB to iPad friendly file format.
A professional and smart Mac Video Converter can easily help you get this task done without losing the original quality at ultrafast speed. Effortlessly Get 1080 50P/60P AVCHD MTS Footages from EA50EH/VG30 to FCP/iMovie

With a large format Exmor APS-C HD CMOS sensor and interchangeable E-mount lens system providing exceptional creative freedom when shooting both Full HD movies and high-quality still photos, NEX-EA50EH, could be the best choice for all cameramen. Meanwhile, NEX-VG30 brings incredible film-like videotaping with breathtaking imaging quality from a 16.1MP APS-C sensor, the NEX-VG30H Interchangeable Lens Camcorder is applied with the newest technology to provide you impressive entertainment experience. These two Sony NEX camcorders share the same feature that they record videos in 1080 60p/50p AVCHD file format. Though AVCHD MTS M2TS has been around for a few years, there’s no denying the fact that 1080 60p/50p AVCHD files still cannot be perfectly run in iMovie and FCP, including iMovie 11 and FCP X.
This would be a hard nut to crack for many photographers because post production plays an extremely important role in generating a stunning movie. There’s no doubt that the editors listed above have awesome editing functions; however, not all kinds of videos can be edited with them. Today, many high-end camcorders generate high definition videos in 1080 50P/60P AVCHD MTS/M2TS video format, but they are one of the unaccepted video formats of FCP and iMovie, so as the NEX EA50EH and VG30 produced 1080 50p/60p AVCHD videos. Mostly, people who encountered with this case would like to look for some other video editors that perfectly support 1080 50p/60p AVCHD videos, but as we know, which one can do an even better job than After Effect, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro or iMovie? Simple answer: no one!
Generally speaking, when we are messed up with such kind of format compatibility issue, the best way to fix it is to convert the target video to the editors’ accepted video formats, such as converting EA50EH AVCHD to FCP, or NEX-VG30 to iMovie with the help of a third-party AVCHD Converter (AVCHD Converter for Mac).

How to Convert 1080 50p/60p AVCHD to iMovie/FCP

Step 1: Import the 1080 50p/60p AVCHD to the VG30/EA50EH AVCHD Converter by clicking “Add file” button.
add video files
Step 2: Tap "Profile" menu and select "iMovie Video"->"iMovie MPEG-4 Movie File" as the output format.
set output format
Step 3: Press the big purple “START” button to launch the conversion, and then leave the smart converter to do the rest for you.

How to Play Xperia Z Unaccepted Videos

Wall Street Journal recently wrote an article reporting that, as the traditional businesses gradually deteriorating, Sony now depend all its hopes of defeating Apple and Samsung on the Xperia Z --- the newest smartphone models. Sony’s previous Xperia devices have always been a little lacking in some way, but as to Xperia Z, it feels all good as if it's finally found its stride. Except from lacking Android 4.2 -- which won’t be a problem for very long, according to Sony -- this blower is packed full of good stuff.
However, even though Sony focused all its nerves on developing the Xperia Z, it still failed to make the devices more humanized as to be a little more compatible with video formats, just like the Apple’s iPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy. Knowing about this, Sony can hardly surpass its competitors in winning the smartphone market shares, since nowadays an increasing number of smartphone buyers would take the entertainment features into consideration, which enjoying videos plays a major part. Now that the Xperia Z does not perform any better than the iPhone or Galaxy, why should buyers purchase it?
In fact, despite the fact above, Xperia Z has many stunning features compared to other popular smartphones like the iPhone 5. For example, its quad-core processor is a monster, the 1080p screen is pin-sharp and the waterproof design will help the phone find favor with butter-fingered mobile users who are prone to accidentally dropping their expensive devices into random pools of liquid. In general, Xperia Z is among the best smartphones to buy.
If the video file compatibility problem is the only reason you are not considering the Xperia Z, now you can worry no more about that. To fix this problem, solution is very simple: all you need is a professional Xperia Video App. For my part, I choose the famous Video Converter (Video Converter for Mac) from Doremisoft. With this powerful Xperia Video App, almost all popular videos in different file format can be converted to Xperia accepted formats. For instance, we can use it to convert WLMP to MP4, which fits Xperia the most.
What’s more, this converter can also convert videos to other famous devices and applications for playback, e.g. convert MKV to Nexus 10 for playback, or transform MP4 to WebM for online sharing on HTML 5 sites.

Sony XDCAM, Toshiba's Camileo, Nikon D5200 Video Conversion Guides

Toshiba's Camileo is flexible, water-proof mini camcorder. And in general, I can shoot for 60 minutes of full HD-resolution video and 6.5 feet on the ground and in water depths of up to 5 - megapixel photos will mean little more than that. If you see more than an amateur camera, you'll probably want to skip it. For use in wet weather or poolside but want an inexpensive pocket camera, it is of no love - regardless of the fact that no matter how small.
Sony XDCAM contains four different series: XDCAM SD, XDCAM HD, XDCAM EX and XDCAM HD422. This is a professional camera with interchangeable lens system and a 3 ½-inch type Exmor Full HD CMOS sensors. The XDCAM latest camera model balances compact, lightweight form factor, and image quality than its larger, mounted predecessors. With HD CMOS sensor, it provides HD video quality in HD resolution.
Nikon D5200 is a perfect combination of all low-priced, high-quality Digital Singular Lens Reflex with pivoting LCD screens and Live View for taking pictures and movies while held over users’ head. The D5200 shoots wonderful quality images and weighs almost nothing, so it's a super convenient to carry it everywhere. Compared with the pro camcorders, I often use the D5200, feeling as if it's empty. That’s crazily cool!
Sony PMW-200 XDCAM HD422 Camcorder
Above are three of the best selling camcorders shooting stunning quality videos, however, if we want edit these camera shootings like getting edit Sony XDCAM in iMovie, import Sony XDCAM mxf to FCP, edit Nikon d5200 footages on iMovie or say open Toshiba AVI with Sony Vegas , it seem like that it is a pain because of the format compatibility problems.
If you want to edit these camcorder videos, maybe you are looking for an all-round Sony/Toshiba/Nikon Video Editing Software for Mac or Windows, but unfortunately, it does not exist. So, the best solution will be converting the videos’ file formats to the accepted ones through some third-party video tools such as the well known Doremisoft Video Converter and Video Converter for Mac.
