How to Edit XAVC Files in Final Cut Pro 6/7 to edit

Since Apple stops updating FCP 6 and 7, not adding new plugins to them, some new video formats such as the brand new Sony XAVC recording format, cannot be opened by them. In this case, what can the FCP 6/7 users do? For example, how can they import XAVC to FCP 7 to edit? Actually, it is quite simple. What they only need to do is to convert the unaccepted videos like XAVC to Apple ProRes 422 MOV format.
Recently, Doremisoft has developed a program called the XAVC Converter (Mac XAVC Video Converter) which can perfectly have this task done. I have downloaded it to convert the XAVC footages from my Sony PMW-F5 to FCP 7 to do the post production and found it works nicely without losing the original video quality after the conversion. It can also convert the Sony PMW-F55 XAVC to Final Cut Pro. You can download it and have a try.
Step 1:Drag and drop to import XAVC footages to the XAVC to FCP converter. You can add multiple XAVC files to the program at a time.
add xavc files
Step 2: Choose "Convert to" > "Final Cut Pro" > "Apple ProRes 422 MOV" as the output format
set output format
Step 3: Press "START to launch the conversion. After the conversion, you can easily import XAVC to FCP 6/7 with ease.
If you have any idea on the XAVC, give me your thoughts via Facebook and Twitter feeds or the comments below. Appreciated!
